It has been chilly but I am still thankful for having a mild winter.There’s hasn’t been a lot of snow, unlike last winter which people are lining up at the park with their bogner on, sleds and snow tubes in hand. This winter is a total contrast and probably a bummer to those who love to play in the snow.

Oh… Kung Hei Fat Choy! I really wish I am close to a China Town so I can be a part of their celebration. I do have Chinese Blood and eventhough I don’t celebrate it as grand as the New Year’s ,I do have some respect of it. When I was younger my house is less than a mile away from a Chinese school and surrounded with Chinese temples and you could hear fire crackers and music. You can also see dragon dancing on the streets it was beautiful and entertaining.
Anyway, here’s my entry for Queen’s Meme.

1. In a traditional Dragon or Lion Dance, the loud drums and cymbals are thought to chase out evil spirits. How do you do YOUR traditional Dragon Dance to drive out any evil in your life? (Do you dance with dragons?……or just old Elvis records….inquiring minds want to know)
*On New Year’s we don’t have a dragon props but we do bang pots and pans and I do dance in my shake that booty thing way! ^-^

2. Have you experienced any good or bad omens this year?
* Man, I did have a bad omen days after New Year! I was in shocked!

3. I believe that good fortune has more to do with personal integrity, honesty and character than ancient symbolism. Treating people the way you would want to be treated goes a long way in warding off that pesky negative Karma. Dragons are considered evil creatures according to European culture , but in Chinese culture the dragon symbolizes supernatural power and goodness. Which one do you believe? Or would you rather just try the good ole’ Golden Rule…….
* All those 3 applies to me! I sometimes get scared of the evil looking dragon but I do have Chinese blood in me and I do what my ancestors do but I also believe in the golden rule .. Karma is a B!
4. Chinese couples will attempt to have “Dragon babies” in the year 2012. In order to take advantage of astrological predictions of wealth and success, name one thing you should attempt to “birth” that could bring you good luck.
* Probably birthing Diligency!

5. You are in charge of the Chinese New Year Parade in your town. Who will ride on the first float?
*Probably the Mayor! He is the father of the town!
6. What is your favorite Chinese food?
* NgoHiong and Sio Mai!
7. Chinese people often think of themselves as descendants of the mythical Dragon creature.

* Oddly enough No!

Too Much

The Holidays has been wonderful and at the same time glutting! I really need to get back to my diet routine and get back to controlled portion. Tomorrow I shall start walking again and I have to take advantage of this wonderful weather, the temp has been unheard of for winter and I have been lazy and missing this opportunity.Speaking of walking, I need to charge my ipod to ensure nonstop battery action. I do need to put in new music in my ipod though. I have some CD’s in the basement and some of them were damaged by water, I should have done the cd duplication before it was too late. My Nirvana CD was damaged too and I have been kicking myself for being so reckless. I salvaged some of the grunge CD I have but the good ones.. well at least what I liked the most were destroyed and unsalvageable.Lesson learned I guess. Anyway, I will start walking again tomorrow and gotta get back to my controlled portion, it’s the start of the year and I gotta start right.. right?

Can you believe it? We are counting single digits already! Christmas really is coming and I can’t wait to see my children’s faces because I think this Christmas will be special for them. Fine it’s only material things but I know they have been waiting and wanting for many years and now it’s actually happening!
But before that, we still have 4 days of school to go to and also my 2nd born son will have his first concert tomorrow! He’s been practicing today and I am so excited for him! I will have the camera with fully charged battery ready to use tomorrow and I can’t wait.
Oh, it’s still Sunday and here’s my entry for Unconscious Mutterings:

Sleepy :: tired– I am somewhat sleepy but gotta finish couple of things first.
Find :: Howard-Medical.com medical computer cart is what my cousins kept on searching.
Scrutinize ::Critical attention is what she give to her patients!
Attempt :: tried– I tried to make a perfect meatloaf today but apparently someone doesn’t want carrots on them!
Playing :: Hide & seek- My children play that game inside my house so it’s hard to keep the presents.
Stupendous :: Amazing- I have heard of amazing stories about secret Santa this year!
Charity :: St. Jude- If I have a lot of money I would be giving to this charity.
Frozen :: ice cream! I want an ice cream maker for Christmas and make frozen treats!~
Turn around :: Looking back- I always look back when I go downstairs! freaky!
Urge :: Persuade- I have to persuade myself to get a better job!

I’m looking at my daughters room and I cannot believe how many junk she have! She got a lot of book(ok.. books are not junk) but it’s gotta go! There are a lot of them and I don’t wanna keep them unless it’s her favorite you know. Plus she read them all and I bet there are kids who would love to have a book in their hands. I might also give it to the Mission along with all her clothes that she outgrown. I really am dedicated into cleaning her room before Christmas comes! I just hope that it won’t take me that long to clean it!
Anyway here’s my entry for 3x Thursday:

1. What’s your favorite kind of music/favorite band/etc (pick one!)
* I like almost all music in different genres. Although I am a punk rocker at ♥
2. Does it/do they have a major impact on you? Why/why not?
* Punk rock? yeah in some way other than music. When I was younger, I love to party and we got see live music all the time and drink and it was fun but I one guy on stage who happened to be my friend passed out and hit his head on those huge speakers and everybody was in panic and next thing you know there were paramedics all over him and he ended up in rehab after being in the hospital for a week or so and I think I somewhat stopped partying and drinking after that. And I give a lot of respect to the paramedics, if not for them he wouldn’t be alive right now. That’s why I always admire people who are taking paramedic classes and I wish that there will be more Paramedic Jobs available, we need them and they truly are amazing.
3. (Yeah, I know I’ve asked this before, but…) What’s your dream scenario involving a band?
* Wow my dream scenario would be watching all my favorite bands/ musician play in one great concert it’s like my dream Woodstock concert minus the chaotic crowd!
This is it for me and I think I will retire for tonight! Sweet dreams! ☆

It is officially December and I am telling you it is icy cold outside! I thought I was imagining when I saw some snowflakes but I wasn’t! There really were flurries but I am glad that it’s not snowing yet! They said that it will definitely snow on Saturday and I am not really looking forward to that! I wish it’s Summer and I can think about warm weather, splashing on the pool and hanging out talking with friends by the pool fences oh how nice would it be but it’s Winter and I have to embrace it because it’s almost Christmas and what’s better is that 2011 is almost over! Can you believe it? Time is just zooming and I can’t wait for New Year! It is only my favorite holiday of them all! I just hope that it won’t snow later tonight and hopefully there’s no snow surprise tomorrow!

Convenience

I cannot believe that today is the last day of November! Tomorrow is going to be December and Christmas is on our way. Time fly so fast and her we are, we just finished Thanksgiving and now we are looking forward to spend Christmas with our family. I still haven’t take my Christmas tree out and Christmas decorations yet but soon after thorough cleaning, I will. So what do I wish materially? Well, I have been very envious with those cool tablets that’s on the rave right now. I love gadgets but I gotta watch how much to spend so it will be nice if Santa will be extra nice to me this year!

I like shopping online but I hate surfing every site looking for the same product. Granted it is easier than driving all over the place but I like to go to one site and type in what I want and all the prices from different retailers that will be available for me to see in one spot! The convenience is one thing that consumers like. WE like to shop in one place that has everything and delivers everything, from mail deliveries to online shopping and not to mention, serving consumers and helping people with jobs. Now that is what I call complete service!

Pumpkin Pie

We have been preparing some dishes for tomorrow’s dinner and so far I made my very first Pumpkin Pie! yes it’s my 1st trial and it looked good so far, the crust is a little crispy than I expected but I’ll try to make it better next time. I haven’t tasted it yet, it is cooling and I will have to stick it in the fridge here in a little bit so it will be perfectly chilled by tomorrow evening.

We like to plan ahead and we are doing a good job so far. Planning ahead really pays off instead of waiting for the very last minute. I like to save money but I also like to be prepared that is why planning ahead is important just like going on a vacation. We don’t go on lavish vacation because we simply can’t afford it is done yearly. However, we are planning to go somewhere more exotic than TN in a near future and we already know which hotel is better and which airline that would give us the best deal. Of course a travel package suited us best and that also includes a rental car and we are also looking at roadside assistance plan for “in case” situation. I have to hush hush about the vacation plan and I just hope that everything will go as plan so we can go ahead and enjoy ourselves but for now, we’ll have to wait.
Oh, tomorrow will be a busy and hopefully a fun day. happy thanksgiving everyone!

We finally went out to get us a Turkey for Thanksgiving! I am so glad that we have done it so I don’t have to worry about it. I bought some ingredients for pumpkin pie and just to be sure we’ll have some dessert on Thanksgiving dinner, I bought a ready to eat pecan pie just in case if I do a bad job baking because I haven’t bake any pumpkin pie so this will be my first time. First time in doing something sometimes make you nervous just like when I first attend a Halloween costume and me and my 3 other friends had our playboy bunny costumes on. It was a little weird but we were young and skinny and we actually looked great but we were nervous wearing it.
Anyway, here’s my entry for Queens Meme for today..
1. How many people will you be cooking for this Thanksgiving?
* I think it will only be for the 5 of us.

2. What is your specialty dish?
* The main dish…my gourmet turkey ^-^, that’s for my ego boost but I actually make a delicious turkey, moist and tender Yummy ^-^

3. Can you give me a quick mini course in basting a turkey?
*I usually put sliced& spiced butter under the turkey’s skin and I just add a little bit of olive oil with the rub and just rubbed it all over the turkey.. 2 hours later I just get some juice from the turkey and inject it back in!

4. What is your favorite part of Thanksgiving?
*uh eating time of course, when everybody is wide awake, ready to eat and have a wonderful meal together.

5. Which one of the real turkeys in your life do you think deserves a pardon?
*Are you from the south since it sounds like you are referring to a person.. My mother in law calls someone turkey. But anyway, if someone did something to me, I usually forgive them but forgiveness is useless to me because I will never forget what they have done.

I can’t believe it’s the 2nd week of November already and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It’s about that time of the year already and I have been seeing a lot of sales advertised for the upcoming Black Friday. There are a lot of retailers that are competing the consumers attention that some are advertising to open as early as 10 pm on Thanksgiving day! There will be chaos and I have to admit that I will be in line in one particular store just to get my children their electronic fix! Sad I know.. the Holidays are becoming too costly to enjoy!
There are ways to get what you want by looking at advance sales or even using simple coupons for discounts. If home improvement stuff is what you need there are plenty of lowe’s coupons that you can easily get access to, you can also try clipping newspapers coupons that are very useful like Younkers coupons.. which by the way helped me a lot when I go and purchase something that I really want and some of them you can use double which make it even cheaper.Coupons are really handy, if you think it’s tiring to do it just cut those little helpers when you are bored and trust me the outcome of saving is priceless! Chaotic or not Black Friday will still be a huge hit like every year in the United States so get full and get your buns ready!

Who doesn’t like free stuff? I get as much as I can as long as it’s FREE! right?When I took my children to the Boo@da Zoo ( Because I am paranoid to bring them trick & tricking around the neighborhood), and they got free meal coupons from couple of food places like Arby’s, Mc. Donald’s, Applebees & Amigos. We already used couple of the free tickets already but they are saving the Applebees coucher until we go one of these days. I also got couple of free music downlaods from itunes and I love the songs especially the Blues. I also got a free custom pins from work. the principal handed all the staff these cute pins and it’s hanging on my badge.Last Friday, we had free donuts & bagels at work too, I’m telling you, I can so get use to this. ^-^
