It is officially December and I am telling you it is icy cold outside! I thought I was imagining when I saw some snowflakes but I wasn’t! There really were flurries but I am glad that it’s not snowing yet! They said that it will definitely snow on Saturday and I am not really looking forward to that! I wish it’s Summer and I can think about warm weather, splashing on the pool and hanging out talking with friends by the pool fences oh how nice would it be but it’s Winter and I have to embrace it because it’s almost Christmas and what’s better is that 2011 is almost over! Can you believe it? Time is just zooming and I can’t wait for New Year! It is only my favorite holiday of them all! I just hope that it won’t snow later tonight and hopefully there’s no snow surprise tomorrow!

It is very cold today! We got our big jackets out and I even wore my mittens and neck warmer to complete the gear. Winter really is coming and I might as well embrace it now! We still haven’t got any pumpkin yet and we wanted to go to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday and we would have if only my daughter’s piano teacher told me that there was no lesson yesterday, instead we cancelled Pumpkin Patch because we thought she would be late and we didn’t want her to miss a session. It would have been fun! The hay-rides, the maze, the shop, the view, the pony area and play area. Also there’s that hunted barn in one of those metal buildings that I want to go to. My husband works during the weekend so we can’t go as a family together and we want to go together but I guess we just have to squeeze our time going during the weekdays after school, bummer is we won’t have all day to enjoy it. Oh well.
Anyway here’s my entry for The Queen’s 99 Meme :

* I wanna extinct Annoying people! I want to bring the Giant Turtle Archelon so it will eat up all those useless jellyfish esp. all over Australia.. who happen to kill lots of swimmers..

*Of course they think we’re stupid coz people are lured in with any price that has.99 on it!

5. If you live to be 99 years old, what would you like your life to be like in that last decade?
*Well, I want to live comfortably… and I mean rich! I also want to see my children and grandchildren even great-great-grandchildren finished their education with wonderful jobs and life. I want to see myself still close to all of them and have Sunday dinners together as one big happy family!^-^

7. I think armpits should get more respect than this. According to the advice of medical personnel: If your child’s temperature is more than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit measured rectally, or more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit measured in the mouth, or more than 99 degrees Fahrenheit measured in the armpit (for 4-5 minutes), he or she has fever.
Why do you think armpits are so slow to register heat?
* Esp. with children it is hard to keep them still with something stuck on their armpits!

Working Hard

I have been working hard and I deserved to have a little break lol. I have jobs line up but I will surely miss one school for sure. I was glad that I was chosen to sub and I felt like I am already a part of their staff. They are all nice and I started to get to know most people and I will surely miss it. I am scheduled to go back and sub for two more people but the one that I have been working for the whole month is working great for me. But life goes on and I am just glad that I became a part of it even for a month.
Anyway, we finally decided to redecorate our living room this year as our little project. We decided that later this year or early next year we will ditch the carpet and just laminate the living room, hallway and all the bedrooms. We will also be needing some new couches, surface raceways wiremold and we need to buy a TV mount! So we will be working hard to save some $$ to make it all happen!

Drops

It’s actually raining today! I can’t even remember when the last time it rained. We need this one because it has been so dry and it’s about time to get some raindrops all over. It cooled yesterday the high was up to 85 and it was pretty nice. We even drove around and my husband washed our car yesterday too. Oh we were looking for another shed to buy, we have a shed out in the backyard but it’s full with garden stuff and other bikes. We need one in front for easy access when winter come, we want to put our snow-blower and lawnmower in the new shed. We also need to do something with our bikes. My husband saw some yakima bike racks at cracksandracks.com and we may have to get more info about it when the time comes. Before adding a new shed, we need to pour concrete in the area we want it on though, right now it’s just grass we sometimes use it to park one of our cars and I also use it to turn around so that’s why we decided to just cement that area to build a new shed and for turning purposes!

Clean up

I noticed that the weather is cooling down! Not much but way better than 102 degrees! I think that if this will keep up then I will have the time and determination to clean the yard! My husband mowed yesterday and we really need to throw away debris that has been piling up for years! Yes I said years .. There’s a lot of branches and who knows what! I told him that I saw some metal detectors on sale and it will be helpful when we dig and clean what ever is under that big pile. We subscribed for yard waste so we wont have to go to the junk yard for that, we just need to cut it in 3″ I guess or whatever is the allowed measurement for branches to be picked up. I really hope that it’ll cool down some more but not close to winter chills yet just enough to enjoy working outside.

I am a little disappointed of myself by not being careful every time I hand- wash my dishes. There’s a lot of scratches and some chip marks on my porcelain sink and the bad thing is that it is more noticeable than any other sink like the stainless undermount sink. I love my sink because it is double wide and pretty but now the wear and tear is showing badly and I think that we might replace it with something else or refinish it, whichever is less expensive. We are actually watching our budget this year because we had couple of home improvements that were costing us badly so, we might wait for next year to replace it since it’s not leaking or causing any trouble for now except of course the unsightly view.

Going South

We are going south in a couple of days and I haven’t packed anything yet. I have been washing laundry for couple of days and have been cleaning the house for I don’t want to go off to vacation leaving the house untidy! It will be nice to get back home in a clean house with no chores waiting.
We might be taking another route this time since our usual route has changed and closed due to flooding recently. I decided to pack lightly enough for a week although we are going to be away for 2- weeks. We can always wash and re-wear it. The kids are looking forward to swimming and maybe camping. I personally doesn’t like primitive camping in the woods but I would be glad to pop a tent in the backyard and enjoy making smores in the fire pit. I think my mother in law already planned to go somewhere but all I can think of is that to just get a vacation and just relax with nothing mind boggling activities! I guess I should start packing. ~

Warming

The weather is warming up all the way to the 50′s on weekend and I am very glad to hear that winter will be bidding goodbye soon! I think we have enough of the snow and windchill that we can say we won’t be missing it for quite sometime. I can’t wait to clean up the lawn when all these snow are melted and also can’t wait for the flowers to bloom once again! We will have a lot of plans for this year and that includes my kitchen! We will be putting a backsplash and I think we might need to replace our kitchen faucet too. I also want another oven and I think I will ditch the built-in range and just buy those range with oven so I will have an extra oven. I bake a lot and having two ovens will be very convenient and helpful for me but it can wait til next year so we won’t be swamp with projects and also we have to consider the financial matters so it’s best to not exaggerate onto planning too much.

I still can’t believe that many people are still hating on Lebron James for switching teams! Come on the guy has the right to choose where he wants to play and I don’t think he forgets where he come from heck, even Akron mayor says the guy still gives back to his community. He can’t just be tied and exclusive for Ohio forever, the guy’s got to go where he wants to go! Give him a break Ohio! Anyway, I know that Atlanta hawks beat them 93-89 but I’m positive they will win against the Raptors this Saturday. I don’t watch basketball as much as before but I watch it from time to time and now people are just excited about the NFL and upcoming Superbowl. Speaking of that, I am trying to look for modern sofas to replace my older ones. I know we’ll have company around and it would be nice to replace the crackly leather couches into more comfortable ones and it’ll be a more enjoyable sport watching time with comfy couches/sofas! Anyway after NFL’s Superbowl, people will be paying more attention to NBA!

Fall planting

It’s time to check the planting time-line again.Strawberry and Raspberries are to be planted during late Fall and I was just thinking about fixing our walkway and add landscape lighting before doing the planting project before it gets real cold. I really have been ignoring this project for years and its about time to do it, we already bought the stuff the problem is me and my time and I really need to just do it instead of ignoring it and wait for next year and whine about it again.

Anyway, Football season is on and of course Fantasy Football is on baby! My picks are doing great although there are some losses but I am still optimistic that I will win this year again. So Bring it on!
